The Gathering team members are culture bridge builders, adept in engaging with your church leadership to expand in cultural awareness of the Asian Pacific Americans in your community and to explore ways to serve the Asians in your midst.

On our joint pilgrimage with All Saints Pasadena, April 2019, to Manzanar National Historic Site, where Japanese Americans were incarcerated during WWII, Mel Soriano spoke about the difference between being a “pilgrim” and “tourist.” Glenn Nishibayashi also shared about the impact the incarceration camps had on St. Mary’s Mariposa while the Rev. Joanne Leslie made connections between Manzanar and the current Sacred Resistance movement.
